Ragnar 2010

For the 3rd year in a row we decided to run the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay. During training Brian hurt his knee so he had to drop out. He was still able to join in the fun by being one of our drivers. And don't worry, we didn't actually think he was boring. Just the opposite actually!

Here are some pictures taken during the race. We were van #2 and we had a blast as you can see by Brian's excitement in this picture.

And yes we did run straight through the night and I think Brian got the least amount of sleep out of all of us. He was a trooper and should be nominated as the best driver ever.

This picture was taken on my last leg. I was a little sleep deprived and honestly not feeling very well. But I was still able to finish strong thanks to the support of my team. They were always ready with water and a cold wet sprong if needed!

It was a lot of fun!! Hard... but fun!! Brian was sad that he couldn't run this year but I'm sure this won't be our last ragnar. Here is a picture of everyone from van 2. We were never able to get a picture of the whole team but we never really saw van 1 anyway.

Lake Blanche

This last summer has been pretty exciting from camping and backpacking to hiking and repelling. Brian's goal with this summer was to cram in as many hikes and vacations as possible before he started his 3rd semester of nursing school at the U. He has heard from many 3rd and 4th semester students that the 3rd semester is rough, to put it lightly. So starting in June I told him to pick an easier hike that I could go on with him. Little did I know that easy to Brian is hard for me. Anyway, we decided to go on the Lake Blanche Trail up Big Cottonwood Canyon. Here is the start of the trail.

At the top the lake was frozen but it was quite beautiful with Sundial Peak towering above it.

It was a great day for a hike and even though it was tough for me I was glad that I decided to go on it with Brian. I'm learning that tough things are good for me. :) Well that is all for this post. I will add more pictures and stories from this summer soon.

Joining The Blogging World

So we finally decided to join the world of blogging. Well, Brian didn't have much say in the matter but I know he'll grow to love and adore it. ;) Unfortunately I can't post any exciting stories or photos right now mainly because I am at work (don't tell my boss). But as soon as we get internet at home (if only the guy we stole internet from hadn't moved), I'll share some fun moments we enjoyed this last summer.
